Benjamin came into my own personal collection in 2006 , from an antique / second hand fair in Cornwall whilst we were visiting for a week. I was instantly drawn to him , his eyes so lifelike , such a sweet little face.
I didn't expect him to be spirited as i collect all dolls and the majority of the time they are not spirited , although I had a special feeling about him , and I always go with my intuition, I had to have him, he's such a lovely little fellow. Over the next few weeks I didn't pick up on any activity from him , he sat on top of my sewing box looking out the window. Then one night I had a very clear dream of a man wearing 18th century attire he showed me beautiful cliffs with the sea crashing against them , ships a sail amongst the angry waves , such a beautiful dream , so vivid and magical. The dream was recurrent ; images of men lifting heavy goods from ships , busy and hard at work. I was very intrigued and kept a note of the dreams in a little book, i keep on my bedside cabinet. I had never had these dreams before the little doll came into my collection. Finally after 2 months since he came into my collection , I started seeing shadows of a man walking down my hallway in the dark of the night, i also heard footsteps and a very chesty cough coming from the room where Ben was kept, which used to be my eldest daughter's room. I began to suspect that the activity was associated with the little doll and as i held him I felt a very cold rush of air against the back of my neck and shoulders. And I was very taken aback when I heard whispering very clear in my ears. My husband and I felt that he was spirited and decided to call Michelle to see what her opinion was she brought equipment, The k2 meter went crazy! Michelle also very strongly felt that this was the case and we decided to investigate. As, with all my dolls I decided to isolate Ben and spend one to one time with him to determine his activity as an individual and to make sure the activity was not associated with the other spirited dolls. He spent a few nights at Michelle's home where she picked up clear EVPs one which we picked up the word 'pistol' and he answered yes and no questions. He revealed his name as Benjamin Tanner but liked to be called Ben. He passed on in the 18th Century. We held sessions and with the use of the Pendulum , Benjamin was very hard to communicate with at first, it seemed he was holding back. It took a while and we gave him time as i do with all spirits , I don't like to overpower them . He revealed his name as Benjamin and his age as 27. He tells us he was from Penzance in Cornwall, and was a smuggler. He smuggled gin, tea and silk , he tells us that he worked hard and he loved the sea. He and his fellow smugglers would hide in caves and his the goods well and prepared themselves for getting caught. The reason he took part in it was because he earned good money for his family. He smuggled many goods for years and years and returned and stayed at an Inn, this is where some of the goods were hidden. He tells us that eventually they were caught as their ship came to shore , as he was unloading the goods and carrying heavy barrels of wine ready to load onto the cart , he was killed by the shot of a pistol in the back of his neck. Benjamin enjoyed life at sea , good company from his fellow workers and keeping busy. He likes to visit us through dreams and show us clear images of his life at sea, the beautiful shore, and many men hard at work as the ships came to shore, the hustle and bustle of his home town , the picturesque coves and the angry waves crashing against the cliffs. Benjamin's presence is felt often , whispering can be heard , shadows of a man seen, cold spots and dreams a long with hearing a very chesty cough. There are times when he can become unhappy and objects are heard falling , footsteps stamping but nothing harmless or threatening. But he does like to share his past when he feels in a good mood, you can sense strongly whether he is in a good or bad mood , he will be show signs like tapping on the shoulder when he wants to communicate. He likes his own space and prefers to be kept in his own spot, i keep him either on top of my sewing box or on top of my jewellery box . |
